KL Studio Co. was born out of a lifelong love for drawing and interior design. Founded by Kristie Lee Fentanes, a Kansas City native and experienced designer, the studio is the result of years spent honing a passion for the technical side of design—specifically, drawing, rendering, and the art of visual storytelling.
Over the course of her design career, Kristie discovered a particular joy in bringing design concepts to life through detailed technical drawings and realistic 3D renderings. She understands how powerful visuals can be when communicating an idea, and she’s made it her mission to help fellow designers present their best work with clarity, confidence, and beauty.

03 how we work
Every project is a little different, but most begin with a simple email. You reach out, tell us what you need, and send over any materials you’ve got—things like measurements, sketches, floor plans, .dwg or .plan files, selection sheets, even voice memos from a client meeting. The more info, the better. We want to see the vision through your eyes.

From there, we take time to review everything, ask a few thoughtful questions if needed, and then send over a custom quote based on your scope of work. Once the quote is approved, we dive in.​
If you’ve got multiple projects in the queue, we’ll rely on you to help us prioritize. You know what’s most urgent—we’re here to support that. Open communication is huge for us. It helps us keep everything running smoothly and ensures that your work gets the attention it deserves, in the order that makes sense for you.

We understand that every designer works differently, so we’re flexible when it comes to how involved you’d like us to be.
